Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® (R-BAR) members, leadership and staff attended the Annual REALTORS® Triple Play Convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey from December 9 – 11, 2008.
The Triple Play Convention is the yearly convention for the real estate communities of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. It is held at the Atlantic City Convention Center. R-BAR sponsored a bus for those members who could only attend the Expo for one day to expose them to the largest industry gathering other than the National Convention. While there, participants attended informational and educational sessions; and, had the opportunity to visit the large exhibition hall filled with numerous industry vendors and sponsors.
This year at Triple Play, attendees were able to develop successful strategies for 2009, learn from industry’s top experts, increase their referral through a variety of networking events and discover the latest technology tools and tips.
The Grand Assembly featured icon and environmental activist, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who provided us with his message ”A Contract with our Future”. He gave advice on how businesses can use sound environmental policies and procedures to grow, save money, and help preserve the environment for the future. His motivational speech was an inspiration to all who attended.
Many classes and seminars at the Convention focused on the use of technology in day-to-day real estate business. Social Networking was an important topic and was featured in several different sessions. Other popular sessions included Marketing, Green/Environmental Awareness, and Ethics. Attendees lauded the quality and content of many of the classes. The convention continues to be a fantastic value and a wonderful tool for REALTORS®.
Gary Yost, Association Executive and 2009 PAR Association Executives Forum Chair, took time out from his busy schedule to volunteer as an Ambassador to help guide attendees to their desired destinations, beit the registration desk, a specific classroom or the expo.
One of the highlights of the week was the R-BAR reception at Tun Tavern on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, hosted by Jack Fry, 2008 President; Dave Raring, 2008 President-Elect; Jeff Crosby, PAR District 4 Vice President; and Gary Yost, Association Executive and 2009 PAR Association Executives Forum Chair. Over 130 staff, members, and invited guests enjoyed the ambiance at the Tavern as well as catching up with friends and enjoying food and beverages. The event was an appreciative acknowledgement for those members and friends who supported the efforts of the R-BAR Association throughout 2008.
