WYOMISSING, PA - The Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® (R-BAR) awarded “Realtor Emeritus” status to three of their members at their annual Spring Breakfast on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Inn at Reading.
In order to achieve Realtor Emeritus status, a member must have forty years of membership in the association and must have completed at least one year of service at the national, state, or local association level.
Thomas J. Bellairs, REALTOR® – Bellairs Real Estate – Tom served on the R-BAR Board of Directors from 1981 to 1985, holding several offices including Board President in 1994. When his tenure on the Board of Directors ended in 1985, he continued to serve on various committees at the association including Finance, Member Services, BREW OPS, and Professional Standards. He also served as a Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR) Director for several years and is a current member of the R-BAR Commercial & Industrial Council.
Frederick C. Levering, REALTOR® – Berkshire Hathaway HomeService – Fred served on the Board of Directors from 1983 to 1986, holding several offices including Board President in 1985. He continued to serve on various committees at the association including Nominating, Government Affairs, and Legislative. In addition to serving on these committees he was also very involved with creating the “Grow with Berks Award” that the association awards yearly to outstanding community members.
Joseph A. Peterson, REALTOR® – RE/MAX of Reading – Joe served on the Board of Directors from 1986 through 1993, holding several offices include Board President in 1992. He continued to serve on various committees at the association including, Finance, Nominating and is the current Chair of the Professional Standards Committee. He also served as a Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® PAR Director for several years and chaired numerous Strategic Planning Groups and Task Forces at both PAR and R-BAR. In 2000 & 2001, he served as the President of the Pennsylvania REALTORS® Education Foundation.
