2019 Primary Election Endorsements

The Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (R-BAR PAC) is pleased to announce its endorsements in the upcoming 2019 municipal elections.

Berks County

Berks County Commissioner Candidate

Michael Rivera

Berks County Commissioner Candidate

Christian Leinbach

Berks County Commissioner Candidate

Kevin Barnhardt

R-BAR PAC endorses REALTOR® Michael Rivera for election to the County Commissioner’s seat, alongside our longstanding endorsement of incumbent County Commissioners Christian Leinbach and Kevin Barnhardt. Rivera made Berks County his home over 22 years ago, and is running to make Berks a better place to work and prepare the county for the future generation.
For the office of Recorder of Deeds, R-BAR PAC endorses incumbent Fred Sheeler. In his time as recorder, Mr. Sheeler has transformed the Recorder of Deeds office into a valuable information resource for the entire community, and we look forward to continuing to work with him for years to come.
R-BAR PAC also endorses current Sheriff Eric J. Weaknecht. Sheriff Weaknecht has been a member of the Berks County Sheriff’s department since 1984, and is running for his third term as Sheriff of Berks County.

City of Reading

Reading Mayoral Candidate

Annarose Ingarra-Milch

R-BAR PAC endorses Annarose Ingarra-Milch for Mayor of Reading. As a proven leader, a self-made entrepreneur, and a homeowner who has lived in the City for over 20 years, Annarose’s experience is unparalleled, and is exactly what Reading needs. We look forward to her leadership for years to come as Mayor of Reading.
In City Council District 6, R-BAR PAC endorses Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz. Since her appointment to the seat earlier this year, Johanny has quickly demonstrated an ability to bring community members and leaders together to solve problems. Her enthusiasm is inspiring, and we look forward to seeing more excellent leadership from Johanny in her first full term on Council.
R-BAR PAC also endorses incumbents Brian Twyman and Marcia Goodman-Hinnerschitz in their respective races. Both Brian and Marcia have been strong advocates for homeowners and the City during their time on Council, and we thank them for their hard work and dedication to the people of Reading.

South Heidelberg Township

R-BAR PAC endorses REALTOR® Tiffany Billingsley for a 6-year term as Supervisor for South Heidelberg Township. Tiffany believes that one of the most pressing issues in the township is the need for commercial investment and smart growth: “Property and school taxes are higher than surrounding areas because we do not have the amount of business to offset the residential property taxes. With the right people in office, we can cut the bureaucratic red tape and streamline processes to make this an attractive place to build a business.”
Similarly, R-BAR PAC also endorses longtime former Supervisor John Musante for a 4-year term as Supervisor for South Heidelberg Township. A Township Supervisor in the 1980’s with over 30 years of experience in his local municipal authority, John returned to the position to replace a supervisor who resigned in order to assist in restoring trust, stability, and confidence in the Board of Supervisors. Tiffany Billingsley and John Musante have endorsed each other in their respective races, and will work as a team to build upon South Heidelberg’s recent success in bringing much-needed transparency and accountability to local government.

Laureldale Borough

In Laureldale, R-BAR PAC endorses REALTOR® Rick Heffner for Borough Council. "The most pressing issue in Laureldale is fiscal responsibility," Rick stated. "To have no new taxes or increase in taxes. I want the Borough to be fiscally responsible with the tax money they already collect. No one should lose or be forced to sell their home because they can’t afford to pay their property taxes."
A staunch advocate for the rights of homeowners, Rick has opposed proposed ordinances that would force Laureldale property owners to open up their homes to onerous inspections and potential fines for any violations found by inspectors within their home.

Heidelberg Township

R-BAR PAC endorses REALTOR® Kevin Snyder for Heidelberg Township Supervisor. Kevin Snyder is running on a platform of fiscal responsibility and keeping Heidelberg Township on the right track by supporting smart growth and ensuring a fair opportunity for all those who would be involved. He also believes that partnership between Heidelberg and the Conrad Weiser Area School District is vital to improving quality-of-life and improving safety for our children.
