We are SO EXCITED to announce our 1st Annual 5K RUN FOR SHELTER! The Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® is proud to work together with Habitat for Humanity of Berks County and Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks, Inc. TOGETHER we strive to increase neighborhood revitalization, create additional housing opportunities, and restore hope for deserving families’ right here in Berks County! This community fundraiser will benefit the initiatives of these two non-profit housing organizations and help to increase their capacity to educate, build, and provide safe homes in addition to increasing neighborhood values. By bringing neighbors together in a positive and healthy way, we can help to revitalize our communities and build a strong foundation for the future of our area.
These non-profit organizations work diligently to make immeasurable impacts for countless families ranging from single parents, widowers, handicap, extreme loss sufferers, and veterans; all through the same vehicle: housing! Whether it’s providing a handicap accessible home for someone to achieve a higher standard of living and not have to sleep in their wheelchair, renewing a families faith who have recently lost a loved one, or assisting an abused woman so she can support her children and provide for the by owning her own home. Each and every dollar and volunteer hour converges into making a profound effect for a local family and provides not only a safe shelter, but a sense of HOPE as well.
You too can be a part of this meaningful initiative, register with all your friends, family & coworkers and join us for a 3.1 mile walk/run of homeownership support!
The 5K RUN FOR SHELTER is a flat course to be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 beginning at the Reading Area Community College. Competitiveness is more than welcome, but not required! You can walk or run the course at your own pace. This family friendly run/walk is open to all ages and abilities and will be advertised as an open invitation to all of Berks County and beyond!
We hope you decide to support our event which will promote local development, healthy living, and relationship building.
