Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® is governed by an elected board of directors to represent the general membership at large. As a member supporting professional association, we depend on dedicated community leaders to volunteer their time serving on committees and the board of directors to establish member needs and maintain relevant support to help members succeed and flourish in their business.
If you’ve ever had a thought or idea in which we could make association improvements upon, we welcome the input and ask that you consider spending some of your time here with us, leading the reinvention of our brand. We are coming up on our 100 year anniversary and would love to welcome new members onto the board as there will be multiple positions opening up this coming year. We like to encourage both physical and professional fitness here at R-BAR and would like to invite you to flex your leadership muscles and step into a change making role with us next year!
We encourage everyone to consider standing up to participate and be a part of the deliberating team to make real life impacts on member’s day to day businesses. Stepping into leadership positions will provide you additional networking opportunities, allow you to have input on public policy positions as they pertain to the real estate industry, represent your peers in deciding what educational opportunities are presented, and so much more! You will stand to represent yourself, your peers, your brokers, and your community and make a real difference.
Keep your eyes open in the fall for the opportunity to run for board leadership positions! Serving on our local board is one way to prepare to sit on a state or national committee to make an even bigger difference. This participation should be a goal for all members at some point in your career. For those of you who do not know, the REALTOR® EMERITUS status is granted to long standing members who meet the requirements found here on this page below (40 years+). A new requirement includes one year of service at the National Association level. Once a member achieves REALTOR® EMERITUS Status they are no longer required to complete the code of ethics requirements and they become exempt from paying annual membership dues. That’s a HUGE opportunity that you won’t want to miss out on because you had not served on the national level. Your time and service will be rewarded as you see your professionalism, your business, and your sphere of influence grow! We look forward to working with you!!!
