According to a recent article release by the Pennsylvania Press Room titled "Pennsylvania Safeguards 40 Farms in 17 Counties for Permanent Ag Production", a recent Pennsylvania Agricultural Land Preservation Board meeting has ensured the protection of 2,760 acres of land across the state. These protected farms include crop, livestock, hay, fruit, and timber.
Governor Wolf has also signed the PA Farm Bill to support business and transition planning for Pennsylvania farmers, The package also included a realty transfer tax exemption for preserved farmland transfers to qualified beginning farmers.
