Directions was an optional field before, and based on subscriber feedback we made it required for all property types in July. Specifically, this was done to ensure more detailed instructions are available for listings that are located in new communities, gated communities, and in some remote areas. Needless to say, some people were not thrilled about a new field being required when they didn’t see the purpose of it, hence you will see “Use GPS.” Overall, though, the Directions field is definitely useful to selling agents in situations where it is a new neighborhood and GPS won’t work, the community is gated (what time gates lock, where to park, etc.), and for more rural areas where the property is hard to find and/or there may not be great service, and having an extra set of directions would be beneficial.
