The month of October is designated as REALTOR® Reach Out month by the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS as an initiative to encourage local associations to spearhead outreach projects in our area. Our Association likes to take time to highlight community service projects that our offices have participated in. Below is a highlight of some of the projects that our REALTOR® offices have coordinated this year. Pagoda Realty and Property management held a mum sale this year through Pagoda’s Legacy of Love to benefit Mary’s Shelter. They sold over 200 mums and raised over $650 through the sale. Shout out to the Committee members who organized the sale: Kristi Lightcap, Kathy Brautigan, Justina Ott and Allison Kercher.

We encourage all our members to get involved and give back whether through your brokerage or with us at the association! For additional information or to submit an outreach story to share, please contact Kathy Stoica, Director of Operations & Events at kathys@realestateinberks.com

Keller Williams Platinum Realty participated in a donation drive for Lauer’s Park Elementary. This project was spearheaded by Tyler Miller and Carly Schaffer. The drive collected supplies for students at Lauer’s Park Elementary including crayons, paper, pencils, playdoh and other school supplies. Finally, our friends over at United Real Estate Strive 212 participated in two service projects earlier this year for Opportunity House. In January, the group participated in the organization’s Souperbowl and in February, agents went to the organization to cook a meal for all of their residents. The holiday season is a great time for your office to get involved in a service project. Local organizations like the Children’s Home of Reading, Mary’s Shelter, and Bethany’s Children Home are looking for donations for the Christmas Holiday for the children in their care. The Salvation Army is always looking for volunteers to “Ring the Bell” during the Holiday Season at designated locations around the county.
